Midwest Psychiatric Center, Inc. is a private psychiatric practice owned by my colleague, Dr. Rakesh Kaneria.  I provide therapy to adults and a small number of children/adolescents at this location.  We can accept most commercial insurances, as well as Caresource (of Ohio Medicaid) and Medicare.  Adult clients who work with me at MPC also have the option to see Dr. Kaneria for evaluation and medication management if desired or needed.  Child psychiatric evaluation and medication management are not available with MPC.    We are located in West Chester, OH near the UC West Chester Hospital, just off I-75, between Liberty Way. and Tylersville Rd.

    Adjunctive EMDR Therapy

Adjunctive EMDR Therapy is a way to add EMDR to your current treatment plan without leaving your current provider.  Close collaboration between your talk therapist and your EMDR provider will be essential in coordinating services and maximizing benefits of treatment.

There are times when traditional talk therapy has been beneficial but has perhaps reached a “stuck point.”  When progress begins to plateau, adding EMDR therapy to your existing treatment plan can be an excellent option to jumpstart continued growth and healing.  You don’t necessarily have to leave your current provider.

Your current therapist may recommend Adjunctive EMDR, or you may request a referral for it. It does not replace your current therapy, rather it is focused and often brief strategies to help stimulate further change, typically around a specified problem area, memory, and recent trauma.

Adjunctive EMDR can be added to your current treatment plan in several different ways.  Collaboration between your providers will help ensure therapy is paced in a way that is both beneficial and comfortable, as well as prevent duplication of services.

Adjunctive EMDR is often covered by insurance, but most plans will not cover two mental health care services in the same day.

    Self-pay options are available.

If you are interested in Adjunctive EMDR Therapy, contact our office at 513-217-5221 or request a referral from your current provider.
